A message from the Lambton Right to Life Executive:

This is the first of our “Pro-life Matters” updates. Between newsletters, we’d like to inform you of current events related to life issues, as well as opportunities to participate in peaceful, pro-life activism.
To influence decision-makers, our activism must be timely, civil and persistent. There is strength in numbers!

RE: Euthanasia and P.A.D. (Physician-Assisted Dying):

In February 2015, the Supreme Court of Canada struck down the federal law prohibiting physician-assisted dying (also known as assisted suicide). Federal, provincial and territorial governments have until February 2016 to implement responses in advance of the Supreme Court's decision taking effect in June 2016.
The Ontario Liberal government set up an advisory group whose members were largely pro-euthanasia and pro-PAD. Even their online survey on PAD was skewed. Earlier this month, 3 members of our Lambton Right to Life Executive attended a public consultation in London organized by the advisory board. Among the 175 people attending, it’s encouraging that approximately one-half objected to PAD in all cases. We are urging you to send your thoughts by email A.S.A.P. to and to Sarnia-Lambton M.P.P. Bob Bailey

Now is the time to be very vocal about our objections to physician-assisted dying!

There are 2 anti-euthanasia/PAD online petitions that you could sign:
· “The Declaration on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide” is a multi-faith initiative:

· “The Declaration of Hope” is an open letter to Canadian Parliamentarians by the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition:

For more information on the Ontario advisory panel, please see

To help us educate others on Euthanasia and Physician-Assisted Dying (PAD), here are 2 excellent videos:

· This 2 minute video compares true compassion to euthanasia:

· This follow-up 4 minute video addresses elder abuse and the pressure to choose euthanasia:

Thank you for your time and God bless.

The Annual Family Day Candlelight Vigil

The Annual Family Day Candlelight Vigil is coming up! We will peacefully witness to the sanctity of human life by circulating outside of Bluewater Health Hospital in Sarnia, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, on Monday, February 15th. Battery-operated candles will be available in the old St. Pat’s parking lot across from the Emergency entrance. At the end of our walk, hot coco will be offered to participants. Please dress warmly.

10,000 Flags remind Plympton-Wyoming that WE NEED A LAW!

On Saturday, August 29 just outside the Town of Wyoming on Oil Heritage Road behind the walking path to Reece’s Corners, the ground will be covered with 10,000 small pink and blue flags. Each flag represents 10 pre-born children who are aborted in Canada every year. Although statistics are difficult to confirm with certainty because two provinces censor all abortion information, there are approximately 100,000 abortions in Canada every year. That is the equivalent of about 5,000 classrooms filled with children.
Dozens of community volunteers associated with Lambton Right to Life as well as We Need a Law will be setting up the display at 7 a.m. and talking about pre-born human rights with passersby throughout the day.
“We are planting these flags to raise awareness in the community and to encourage support of abortion laws in Canada. It is appalling to think that Canada is the only democratic country in the world that doesn’t have an abortion law.” explained event organizer Diana Alblas. “We pray that this display will have a lasting impact on those that see it and hear about it and that we will see a day when the lives of pre-born children are protected under the law.”

We respectfully ask Mr. Harper, Mr. Mulcair and Mr. Trudeau to stop treating preborn children as if they are just a political liablilty. 10,000 flags bear witness to these leaders that We NEED A LAW!

Interviews with the We Need A Law can be arranged by emailing or calling Niki Pennings at 519-709-4478.
